The Studio Accommodation

Unfortunately the Studio is not available for hire in 2021 other than those bookings already taken

There is a Studio set within the terraced gardens just behind the main house and is open planned with its own kitchen, dining, ensuite bedroom and sitting areas, plus a private terrace with garden furniture.  Perfect for Two.  As with the main property, it also boasts a log burning stove which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed.

The flexible accommodation makes for a perfect family holiday or group of friends and with the spectacular setting your time spent at The Old Watch House will be unforgettable for years to come.

Note: The Studio cannot be hired separately - at time of booking depending on the number of your guests or requirements you can either opt to have the Studio or not.   There is an increase in price if you would like to book the Studio also.

Boat Hire & Mooring

Leading off the living area is the balcony with outdoor furniture and views of the estuary and steps leading down to the water. There is a private mooring with the house but due to safety reasons, our boat hire contact will moor your boat at the nearby Jetty. It is a minutes walk from the property and a far easier and safer option for our guests

You are welcome to bring your own boat or for boat hire please contact Maurice Hunkin at Fowey River Boat Hire

Maurice will deliver the boat to the property and will take you through a 15-20 minute tutorial, covering the use of the boat plus the rules of the river. He can also suggest places to go and will provide maps and life jackets. Booking prior to arrival essential

Having your own boat will not only give you flexibility of travel but will help create some wonderful memories – imagine a lazy afternoon drifting up the estuary towards Golant where you can moor up and walk from the beach to The Fisherman's Arms for a spot of lunch or maybe pack a picnic and disappear to a secret bay or you may prefer to just sit and fish for Mackerel or Sea bass to cook on the BBQ for dinner.

Access & Parking

Getting to the property involves some narrow lanes, then when on foot there are a few steps and downhill slopes.

There is no vehicle access to within 80 meters of the property.

You will need to park your car(s) at St Saviours Car-Park which is located at the top of Polruan. The postcode for the Car-Park is PL23 1PZ

You can reverse your car down to the bottom of Battery Lane to unload prior to parking your car. The 80 meters to the property is then taken on-foot. Battery Lane can be steep in places but is flat once on West Street but becomes steep again for the last 10 meters on the approach to the gateway into The Old Watch House.

The pathway consists of a slope with non-slip tarmac and steps with handrail. Please download this simple map which gives a birds-eye view of the location of the property, the unloading area and closest car park.

Vehicles and contents are parked entirely at the owner’s risk.
